It has been quite sometime since I wrote a status update, and can’t believe we are almost into September. My studies pretty much stopped cold this past May. My wife, and myself both lost our father’s due to cardiac arrest within two months of each other. Both our dad’s were in their early 60’s, and had clean bill’s of health. So both are families are still really in shock. We lost my dad just a little over a month ago so it is still fresh in my mind.

With all that being said it has been impossible to dive into another CCIE track at the moment. Still not sure if SP, or Security will be the way forward for me. I am looking forward to seeing how INE, and IPexpert are going to go about updating their security material.

Sorry to hear the dual loss.

Its so feels the backbone of the family is gone.

May GOD give both of you the courage to deal with the crisis.

I’m not sure what your name is, but I read your recent post and felt the need to write you. Your blog really struck home because both of my parents are in the their 60s now and unfortunately, in life you can never really predict the future. I know you and your family are going through a very rough time, but lean on each other for strenghth and cherish the moments that you shared with your fathers. Even though your father may not be here now, he lives through you. Definitely, take the time to spend it with your family as you go through this tough moment, but know things will get better one day. The CCIE is a long and lonely journey at times, and requires a lot of sacrifice. However, in the end, I believe it’s worth that sacrifice. If you can, when you are ready, use this experience as motivation and God bless your family and I hope you heal soon.

That’s a double blow. Sorry about your loss. Please draw strength from this and finish that which you set out to do. God bless.
